Continue readingThere was another snow warning to start the week and then on Wednesday and Friday, too. I had a disappointing marathon-pace workout on Sunday but a great interval session on Wednesday. But, the week ended in disaster after I tripped during an easy run, breaking two fingers and skinning my knee!
Continue readingThe week started with snow – about two inches and then we got two more on Tuesday. I ran loops on the salted roads in my neighborhood to avoid slick pavement but my mid-week was back on the trails. It wasn’t a bad week – I got my runs in despite the bad weather, but I missed the mileage goal by quite a bit.

Continue reading2020 started optimistically! In December, I joined an online group to train for the 2020 Boston Marathon and was starting to feel better after a disappointing 2019 New York City Marathon.
Continue readingHappy New Year! This year, my New Year’s Eve celebration was mild enough for a medium long-run the next day. While I managed to get my runs in this week, my thoughts were mostly on next week’s real estate closing. I was off from work this week, which enabled me to start some runs later in the morning.
Continue readingWithout traveling this year, I was off from work having reached the coveted “use or lose” status with my annual leave. After a good marathon-pace run on Sunday, the home inspection for the new house my partner and I are purchasing had me on my feet more than usual on Tuesday and wrecked my medium run.
