2020 started optimistically! In December, I joined an online group to train for the 2020 Boston Marathon and was starting to feel better after a disappointing 2019 New York City Marathon.

Continue readingI was having a rough training cycle, so when both the Boston Marathon and London Marathon were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was disappointed but also slightly relieved that I wouldn’t have two struggle-fests this spring. But, I knew I would “run anyway” as I did after the 2012 New York City Marathon was canceled.

Continue readingAt this stage in my training cycle, my routine felt locked in. On Sunday, I did a long run followed by a hill workout on Tuesday. A short marathon-pace workout filled out the week but I missed my goal.
